“Summer”
This one is actually quite eye catching at a distance; however close up there are a few major issues.
The first being that the seem created from copying one half of the tree over to the other is painstakingly obvious. This can be fixed up quite easily using layer masks and copying over small portions of the tree, even from the uncopied side, to help mix things up and make the overall result look very natural and as though the tree is exactly as you’ve got pictured here. Two major points of interest are where the branches come close to meeting at the top, and where it’s not quite properly aligned where the tree trunk divides before disappearing into the leaves.
(whether you’re using Photoshop or GIMP to do the editing, if it’s just paint you’re using, GIMP can be acquired for free here: [link] otherwise you can “Borrow” a friends copy of Photoshop with relative ease, but I’m not here to support piracy)
The one thing you should concentrate on there is making both sides of the tree look reasonably different so as to avoid people knowing that you’ve simply copied one side over to the other.

The second issue is the small heart shaped cloud to the lower left which actually serves as a distraction from the very thing you’re trying to present, and while it too looks obviously artificial, all in all the picture would benefit by having it left out entirely.
If you did want to include a heart shape in the picture, a good option would be to take the time and make use of the divide in the tree trunk I mentioned earlier, if you spend enough time on it and put in the effort, you could work the branches to form that heart shape, this would offer even more interest to an already intriguing tree, without distracting the viewer from the subject being pictured.

The overall atmosphere feels a little too bright for the subject, I’d recommend maybe adjusting this slightly (and there’s about a thousand different ways it can be done with none being a particular right or wrong) to make the scene appear slightly more mysterious, or if you wanted to take it further, really bring out the fact that the tree is half dead, that’s merely a suggestion though and it’s more of an opinion to be considered rather than advice to be followed.

All things considered it looks like a good concept thus far, it just needs a bit more time, patience and work in order to get it to where it could go.<img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/t/t…" width="15" height="15" alt="" title="Thumbs Up" />
